ZAZOOM

Paper Airplane wings have no curvature shape like Real airplanes. But what makes them fly is their angle of wings create lift to make them fly which is called Angle of attack. Bigger the wings bigger the lift – Slower the plane, Smaller the wings faster the plane – lower the lift. Let’s learn how to fold a paper airplane to design Zazoom plane and understand the angle of attack trick!

Two minutes for Noodles! isn’t it? Three minutes for Paper planes! It’s that simple with liftndrift*

Supplies Required:

  • A4 Sheet of Paper or a Foolscap Paper with 70-90 GSM
  • Ruler or Flat thick object to flatten the folded edges to make a strong crease.

Step 1:

  • The first step is keeping your paper in Portrait orientation over the table and make a centre crease by folding from bottom to top equally
  • Mountain fold the sections as shown in the Fig.1

Step 2:

  • Fold-down the Top right hand sided edges to the centre crease as shown in Fig.2
  • Do the same for the other side

Step 3:

  • Your plane will look like this, You have to open it to look like the Fig.4
  • Compare Fig.3 and Fig.4 for your doubts

Step 4:

  • Fold-down the Nose of about 3/4th of the triangle
  • Align it to the centre line, Compare the plane with Fig.4 and Fig.5

Step 5:

  • Fold the diagonal sides of about 1cm on both sides inwards as shown in Fig.5
  • Please follow the dotted lines shown in Fig.5

Step 6:

  • Mountain fold Paper plane into half as shown in Fig.6 and check for their symmetry

Step 7:

  • Fold-down the wings from the bottom line of about 2cm as shown in the Fig.7
  • Do the same for the other side

Step 8:

  • Fold the wing tips of about 1cm on both sides to make the winglets

Step 9:

  • Zazoom is a pretty good performer in the air.
  • Try this in open ground or in an auditorium to check its fullest potential!

Zazoom flying Technique:

Hold the Plane behind the centre of the plane’s gravity centre
Keep your left foot slightly forward and launch it in 30 – 40 degrees angle, throw it steadily with a medium force. If it fails, tweak the tail wing slightly up and try again.
Try different angles and forces now! Wow, That’s how one learns properly with more trying and flying. Kudos!
